Choosing The Correct Tablecloth Size
Not sure how to choose the correct tablecloth size or how to dress your table to create an intriguing tablescape? To calculate the best size tablecloth for your table, remember that you need to allow for the overhang or drop. The first thing to do is to measure your table. Measure the length and width of the table if the shape is square, rectangular, or oval. Measure the diameter of the table if your table is round. Plan for an overhang or drop of between 8" and 15". To make the correct selection, add 16" to the diameter or 8" to both the length and width of your table. The table below may be helpful.

Bring visual interest and excitement to your table!
Remember to "dress your table". Use your imagination and create a gorgeous tablescape. Square tablecloths look great on round tables. Round tablecloths look superb on square tables. The "drop" looks really interesting that way. Layer your tablecloths to add more appeal. Try a square cloth over a round or rectangular tablecloth. Try setting the pointed corners of a square or rectangular tablecloth on an angle. You can also layer the look using runners on your table. Continue the layered look by using chargers. Create a gorgeous tablescape by using a patterned tablecloth, or two, with a solid charger and patterned dishes. Let your imagination take flight! Don't forget to add an interesting centerpiece. Try some fruits or veggies in hand painted majolica from Deruta. Or, try a clear cylinder filled with lemons.
